What is a Guardian Home?

At Boise Poodles, we are committed to raising our litters in my private home rather than in kennel environments. We believe it is in the best interest of the dogs to live in loving homes where they can receive optimal care and attention. This is where Guardian homes come into play. We offer poodles from mini up to standards. We love all sizes!

Our use of Guardian homes allows us to uphold our standards of producing exceptional AKC Poodle breeding quality dogs, while ensuring each dog receives the individual love and attention necessary for their well-being.

In our Guardian home program, you are provided a Boise Poodles breeding dog at no cost. In exchange we retain ownership and breeding rights for a specified period. Once this period concludes, ownership is transferred to the Guardian, and the dog remains with their family for life!

Our small network of Guardian homes contributes significantly to our efforts in providing dogs for therapy, family pets, and service work. Dogs in Guardian homes live with their families for their entire lives, but come to us for breeding, whelping and raising their litters.

Each Guardian home signs a contract detailing the terms of the agreement, including the duration of the breeding rights period. After this period ends, all rights are transferred to the Guardian, ensuring a lifelong bond between the dog and their family. We will forever be a support contact and hope you will join our Guardian family.

*We do require all Guardian homes to be located within an hour driving distance from Boise, Idaho, and be willing to transport the dog as needed to our home and for veterinary appointments at Idaho Veterinary Hospital in Nampa, Idaho.
